Remove “Shortcut” Text From New Shortcuts

Note: Putting the wrong values in Windows registry might crash your system and lead to lots of problems. It is always recommended to back up your Registry before editing it. Info on how to back up your registry:

1. Hit Start
2. Type regedit in the search box and then hit OK
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer and click on the Explorer folder
4. Double click the registry key called “link” in the right-hand pane.
5. Change its value from 1e 00 00 00 to 00 00 00 00.
6. Restart Windows Explorer or log off your machine.
